Scholarships - Check Guidance Bulletin Board Frequently:

Beaufort County Farm Bureau's Chapter of Young Farmers and Ranchers - available to seniors in pursuit of a career in agriculture.  Not required to be a Farm Bureau member, but members will receive first priority. Due:  May 15, 2012 See Mrs. Langley for an application.

Hyde County Farm Bureau Scholarship - available to seniors living in Hyde County, parents must be a member of Farm Bureau.  Due May 15, 2012, See Mrs. Langley for an application

Summer Opportunities:

2012 Resource Conservation Workshop - 9th, 10th & 11th graders - June 24-29, at NC State University.  Fees are covered by Beaufort Soil and Water Conservation District for winning applicants.  Due:  May 16, 2012  See Mrs. Langley for more info.

The Shelton Challenge -a one-week summer experience for rising 9th - 12th graders (with GPA of 3.0 or better).  Shelton's cornerstones of values-based leadership - honesty, integrity, compassion, diversity and social responsibility - are the foundations of the experience.  The core curriculum focuses on Leadership Styles and Situations, Social Responsibility, Integrity as a Leader, Public Speaking, changing Behaviors and Goal Setting.  $575 includes deposit, lodging, meals and curriculum.  www.ncsu.edusheltonleadership for application and more information.  Multiple dates and locations available.
